I graduated from Binghamton University of the State University of New York with a Bachelors and Masters degree from the School of Education and Human Development. My senior thesis focused on Hip Hop's impact on Black American cultural values. Several years later, I earned a Doctorate from the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My dissertation focused on policies and programs designed to improve the student experience through academic support and career readiness. I became a certified teacher through the Metro RESA Georgia Teacher Alternative Preparation Program.
Thanks to my education, I have been blessed with many career opportunities in diverse educational settings throughout the United States. My experience includes tenured faculty in the department of adult and continuing education at Parkland College in Illinois, Associate to the Vice President for Student Affairs at Georgia State University and the Associate Vice President for Student Success and Dean of Students at Lakeland University in Sheboygan Wisconsin. I have successfully taught GED classes, courses in social science and transformative leadership, as well as co-taught high school courses in conceptual physics, earth science, earth systems, physical science and literature & composition. I am a member of the International Honor Society in Education, Kappa Delta Pi, the professional organization of Educators, Phi Delta Kappa and Golden Key International Honor Society. I am Life Member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and a longtime Dallas Cowboys fan.
I believe New Manchester H.S. is a great place for me to work because the educators are truly committed to student success in school and in life.
