September 21 will be the first day for high schools to return face to face. Please make sure you read the newsletter in its entirety for information about returning face to face.
Sincerely,
Tekmekia Gilchrist

Announcements
Students, Please make sure that you are checking your student emails daily. You may be receiving emails from your counselor or teachers and don't want to miss out on any important information as well as important deadlines. Also, use your school email only when emailing your counselors.
September 18 is our Back to School Bash. This will be for freshman and anyone new to the school. Also, this event is only for students who plan to return face to face.
Students, don't forget all of your textbooks and library books from last year when you come to school on the first day back. On the third day back, we will have tables set up for you in the courtyard as you get off the bus with sticky notes available for you to write your name on your books as you return them. Please make sure you stay the required safe distance from other students. We look forward to seeing you all again!
Students, when you come back to school your teachers will be requiring you to bring your devices with you to each class. Make sure your devices are charged each night. If you are using your own device for Digital Learning, you will still be expected to have a device with you at school. There will be NO laptop carts for students at school, so make sure you remember to bring your devices with you each day.
Do you think you can dance? If so the FAME Dance Senior class would like to cordially invite you to attend auditions for their Senior Dance Concert. Auditions will be held September 30th from 4 - 7pm in the theater. You must email Ms. Adrienne to sign up prior to September 30th. Spaces are limited, so please act now!
Please bring your own water bottles to school each day. The water fountains will not be in service.

DCSS Implements Clear Bag Policy for Athletic Events
Beginning Friday, September 18, DCSS will implement a clear bag policy at all sporting events. The policy will be similar to policies in place at college and professional stadiums and coliseums. "The clear bag policy will help us keep dangerous or illegal items, including weapons, out of our venues," said Superintendent Trent North. "Just last week, someone entered a football game in a neighboring county with a semi-automatic firearm. By allowing only clear bags, we can monitor what's coming into our stadiums and gyms and keep everyone safer with only a minor inconvenience to those in attendance." The following types of bags will be permitted inside DCSS sporting events:
