October 12, 2020
Principal's Message
Jaguar FAMILY,
Whew... we got through the 1st 9 weeks with digital learning, face 2 face learning, hand-washing and sanitizing, mask on, and social distancing. The 2nd 9 weeks started on October 8 and we will get through these things again. Our students have done a great job with all the changes and I commend them for a job well done!
Sincerely,
Tekmekia Gilchrist
Principal, New Manchester High School
Rule 160-4-2-.13 Statewide Passing Score
Rule 160-4-2-.13 Statewide Passing Score
Rule 160-4-2-.13 Statewide Passing Score currently states that the Georgia Milestones End-of-Course counts for 20% of a student’s final grade in a course requiring such a test. On Thursday, October 1, 2020, the State School Superintendent recommended the initiation of rulemaking procedures to change the weight of the End-of-Course test from 20% to .01% for the 2020-2021 school year. The State Board of Education denied the State School Superintendent’s recommendation. In substitution, the State Board of Education initiated rulemaking procedures to change the weight of the End-of-Course test to 10% for the 2020-2021 school year.
This survey will close at 11:59pm on November 16.

DCSS Implements Clear Bag Policy for Athletic Events
Beginning Friday, September 18, DCSS will implement a clear bag policy at all sporting events. The policy will be similar to policies in place at college and professional stadiums and coliseums. "The clear bag policy will help us keep dangerous or illegal items, including weapons, out of our venues," said Superintendent Trent North. "Just last week, someone entered a football game in a neighboring county with a semi-automatic firearm. By allowing only clear bags, we can monitor what's coming into our stadiums and gyms and keep everyone safer with only a minor inconvenience to those in attendance." The following types of bags will be permitted inside DCSS sporting events:
