Douglasville, GA – The stage is set for a cinematic theatrical experience as FAME NMHS Theatre proudly presents its upcoming production of The Prince of Egypt. Based on the beloved DreamWorks Animation film, this breathtaking musical will take the stage at New Manchester High School for a limited three-night engagement, February 26th through February 28th.
Performances will begin nightly at 6:30 PM.
The Prince of Egypt tells the extraordinary tale of two brothers, Moses and Ramses, raised together in a world of privilege but divided by a secret past. As one is called to lead his people to freedom and the other ascends to the throne as Pharaoh, their bond is tested by faith, power, and destiny. Featuring the Academy Award-winning song "When You Believe," the production is a high-stakes journey through ancient Egypt filled with stunning choreography and a soaring score by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin).
This production marks a significant milestone for the FAME NMHS Theatre program, as it is officially being adjudicated for the National High School Musical Theatre "Schuler" Awards. Often called the "High School Tonys," the Schuler Awards recognize excellence in high school musical theater across the region. Adjudicators will be in attendance to evaluate the production’s performances, technical design, and overall execution, putting the talented students of NMHS in the running for prestigious honors and a chance to participate in the national Jimmy Awards in New York City.
“Our students have poured their hearts and souls into bringing this epic story to life,” said the newly appointed FAME Conservatory Magnet Director, Jacob Garcia, who recently won the 2025 Hollywood Foreign Press award for Fine Arts Administration. “From the intricate set designs to the powerful vocal performances, this is a show that explores the depth of human emotion and the strength of the human spirit. We are honored to have our work recognized by the Schuler Awards and can’t wait for the community to see the result of months of hard work.”
