New Manchester High School welcomed teams from across Georgia for the Trust Downs 7-on-7 Academy, an event designed to help student-athletes prepare for success both on and off the field.

Before competing in the afternoon tournament, players participated in a leadership seminar covering important topics including faith, mental health, financial literacy, and preparing for life after football.

Hosted by NMHS Head Football Coach Olten Downs and the Downs family, the event brought together student-athletes from seven programs for a day focused on development, connection, and competition.

Congratulations to tournament champion Newton County and runner-up Langston Hughes. Newton’s Kevin Hartsfield was named tournament MVP.

Coach Downs hopes the Trust Downs 7-on-7 Academy becomes an annual tradition at New Manchester High School.
